day 1: leave for madrid

Well today was the day.  I finished last minute packing and errands and Rob took me to the airport. Since Frankfurt is about 2 hours from where we live and my flight was at 9pm, we left around 5.
Rob drove and I did the passenger thing.
Once I got there I was able to get my boarding pass and check my bags pretty easily. Then came the trek to my gate. So far away. But, since I was early it was okay.

I even saw an odd smoke box on the way there. Neat idea for people who smoke cigarettes.  I almost wanted to try it out, if I still smoked but then I thought about it being a big box full of cancer lol. I feel like it'd be super smokey inside.

Next up I just played on my phone to pass the time till we started boarding.  The flight was quick. Only a little over two hours. They even served dinner.
I was pretty stoked about the free beer and the mini Toblerone.
Too bad there were super annoying like 13 yr olds that never shut up.

Next we landed and the fun began. We landed around 1130, I snagged my bag and headed to look for the hotel shuttle. I waited for it for about 15 minutes, by this time it was after midnight. The sign said the shuttle service only ran 07-24. Sooo, me thinking they weren't going to show (and being stuck w. a phone that wouldn't work even with my data on- cause I wanted to call the hotel) decided to say f it and get a cab. Sadly the cab was expensive but I made it to the hotel in one piece.

Now I'm off to shower and hit the hay. The program director and other students should be here in the morning.

Just wanted to post a little update and say I'm alive! Maybe I'll get to post again tomorrow! Love you familyy!
