Soo.. Rob comes tomorrow on Tuesday: hells yes!!
Today was school and then we went to the Plaza de España (which I was super stoked about). BUT we started our tour by walking through the University of Sevilla to get there. The university building used to be an old tobacco factory here in Sevilla.

This is above the door we entered through.

One of the fountains in the school we walked past. |
A super beautiful staircase.. |
Hallway. NBD just beautiful. |
The view once we walked out the opposite side. |
This used to be the moat that protected the factory since tobacco
was very valuable back in the day. |
Then we continued our walk to the plaza. The plaza was completed in 1928 and was where Seville hosted the word fair in 1929. It is surrounded by gardens and is a common area used by the Sevillanos. Now the building itself houses several government offices. Oh and yeah, it's about 500,000 sq feet.

Below are two pictures of the tile work on the building walls when we entered into the South Tower.

Love it with the boat. |
Love all this tile work, so beautimus. |
There were benches for cities and provinces of Spain. |
Each bench had tile work on the ground in front of it too. |

This was one of the 8 monuments to Sevilla. |

Best frozen lemonade in my life. |
After we finished walking around the plaza it was time for cooking class. Our group was split into two sections- a class this week and a class next week. Since the group this week wasn't full Kristen and I volunteered to go today with that group. We first walked to the school then to the KÖK cooking school.
Here we each had the chance to participate in helping and learning to cook typical Spanish dishes. We made a seafood paella, gazpacho, salmorejo, and tortillas de patatas.
Paella gets its name from the large pan it is
cooked in which is called a paella. |
They're steamed and ready for the paella. Just not me. |
A cold blended veggie drink. Gazpacho .
Can either be served as a soup or a drink. |
The finished paella. |
Tortillas de patatas. Made with eggs, potatoes, and onions
and here: is served with peppers. |
Salmorejo, a second cold tomato based soup. |
I am definitely gonna have to try some of these recipes out with rob. I know he'll love the seafood paella. I didn't try any because I don't like seafood but I tried the others. Gazpacho and salmorejo aren't my favorites. Cold soup is weird to me anyway. BUT at least I tried them :D
Once our class ended around 8 and I walked back home. The cooking school was a pretty far walk so I didn't get home till about 9.
