Friday after class Rob and I originally planned to go tour the cathedral at 4 before they closed at 5. Only problem, we got a late start in the afternoon. We decided to stop and eat in the Plaza de Cuba by our house on the way to the cathedral. The first place we stopped at was a restaurant called Jose Luis and it was SUPER expensive (like each dish was 20 euro and up). Soo.. with that being the case we just got some drinks, paid, and moved on to eat at the neighboring restaurant - Phoenix Pub (I've been there before).

my yummy burger I ordered :D |
We ended up taking a lot longer than we had planned and weren't gonna be able to make it to the cathedral in time for the tour before it closed. BUT don't fret- they are open on Saturdays! :D With that being said we had an easy night. Walked around, shopped a bit, and snagged some ice cream.

we even walked past two groups of protestors. Those in favor of abolishing the monarchy all together and those in favor of Franco's reign and keeping the monarchy. |
The reason there are so many protests going on is because on June 2nd the king abdicated the throne after his 40 year reign. So many are not in favor of keeping the monarchy because of how many lies are circling him stepping down and because of the amount of money wasted each year on the royal family.
Rob's stomach really started bugging him while we were out so we didn't stay out long. Kristen was tried so she headed home and Rob and I went back to the hotel. We figured we could go there and let him rest and if he started feeling better we'd go out after. BUT since, both our stomachs were bugging us (we think our burgers from lunch messed with us, even though they were DELICIOUS) we decided not to go back out. We rested up most of the night and got ready for our big day tomorrow.
