Day 19, aka Tuesday June 3rd.
Holy crap this morning I felt like crap. So congested and MAN I was sneezing ALL DAY. Medicine had to be bought before we left for our excursion at 2. Our excursion for the day was to Cadiz and I really wanted to go. Plus, Rob arrived in the evening and I didn't wanna feel like crap then either.
BUT before I get to the excursion- everyday during school we have a 30 minute break (it started at 15 minutes and just kept growing :D) AND, usually, during that break we all go to the little cafe/restaurant next door. Best sandwich ever = a warm ham and cream cheese sandwich. I know it sounds odd but it's AMAZING.

you should try it. just saying. |
So, continuing on, like I said we headed to Cadiz around 2pm. It was about an hour and a half away on our bus. Luckily I totally slept the whole time which made it go wayyy faster.
When we got there we walked around the city a bit on our way to the "Camara Oscura", meaning Dark Camera.
|
love this fountain we walked past. |
|
and this ginormous flower tower. |
|
and of course, my flower close ups. i love taking pictures of flowers. |

one of the buildings we walked past |
|
and the outside of the Camara Oscura, the sign reads 101 ways to climb the tower without a lift. |
|
|
Right when you walk in the door you start going up staircases. Sooo many staircases. |
|
This is the dark camera. The light is magnified through lenses and 360 degrees of real time images of the city are displayed here. The white lens where it is displayed can be moved up and down to focus nearer or farther on images. It was super cool. |
|
After viewing the images we were able to walk up to the top of the tower to see the city view. |
After our tour of the Dark Camera we headed to the beach.
|
yay pretty beach :D!! I didn't spend the rest of our time at the beach because I didn't bring my suit nor did I want a super gnarly sunburn. I'm so white and burn soooo easily. |
Instead of chilling at the beach the whole time as a group we were allowed to split up and go wherever as long as we were back by 720. Me and a few other girls decided to walk around a look at some stores with our free time.

this is a view of one of the streets we shopped on |

and this is an ad I saw on a restaurant. I had to take a picture because I remember eating these smiley fries in elementary school. yummy smiley fries. |
Afterwards it was time for the ride back. On the way back I couldn't sleep at all because I was too excited to see Rob. His train got in around 4pm and we were gonna meet at our hotel when I got back.
Once we got back to the school I had wifi and got messages from Rob. I was worried about his travel and happy to hear he was at the hotel. He may have gotten lost on his way but he made it :D!! I walked to our hotel by mom's house (which I totally failed to ever take pictures of) and we both headed out to dinner. We went to Spala on San Fernando, a favorite of mine. Rob ordered paella and I got Moorish chicken.
|
yummy chicken |
After we ate we went to my mom's to snag a suitcase of mine with clothing and bathroom stuffs for the week. Since we finished dinner kinda late and we were both tired (me being sick since my cold medicine didn't help at all and with rob having traveled all day) we just got my stuff and headed back to our hotel for the night.
So beautiful. Every place you turn. And the flowers are so gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteIt is a very beautiful country and I love the fact that there are so many planters everywhere. Not necessarily big yards like in the states but they really do work with the small space they have and they energize it and make it gorgeous.
