day 26: Rob Left :( & Jerez

Tuesday June 10

This morning I left school school at 830 as normal but sadly had to say goodbye to Rob when I left. His train left at 10 and his flight was around 1 out of Jerez. In class we did the study thing.

love Sarah and I's classroom selfies.
Then, after class ended, like immediately at 1pm, we all stuck around the school to get on the bus to Jerez. Since we didn't have time for lunch before we left we all went to a restaurant in Jerez first. They had planned a 3 course meal for us, each person eating the same dishes to ease the load of having a 40 person group for lunch. The first was a beet soup- not my favorite. I tried it but wasn't a big fan. The second dish was a burrito-like dish. The third, dessert, was dulce de leche cake. Super yummy. As a drink I tried my first sherry (sherry is VERY famous in Jerez).

After our lunch we had some time to blow before we headed to the Bodega.

my yummy popsicle I had to pass some time. I thought it was comical that it was a
"gluten free" popsicle.

The sign at the front of the Bodega.
Another sign at the front of the Bodega showed the 3 brands that the bodega
here creates and works with.
This is the central garden at the Bodega. The plants are all strategically planted to give off a
great aroma during the summer months at the bodega.
love those grape vines!

so many barrels!! so much alcohol!
This is the entrance we went through to start our tour. First we watched a video about
the sherry's history and how it is made.

They use a 3 level process to blend the sherry as it ages.

Famous people that visit this bodega sign the barrels.
This one was from Christopher Columbus' visit.
This barrel was signed by the now current King of Spain.
These are the flights of alcohol that they produce. The tour guide told us about the process in which each was made and about the flavors they offer.

This is their tasting room where we were able to try out some of the sherries they sell.

Love the photo bomb here.

now this is us waiting for the bus to pick us up. Maya and I just goofing around with
Chelsey photo bombing. LOVE it.
A sunset on the bus ride home. The picture is out the window.
(Sorry it's blurry)
We didn't end up getting home till nearly 10pm so I didn't wanna do a big production for dinner. Me and some girls ended up getting pizza/pasta on San Fernando and then, after that, I just headed home.
